Here is another dress we found.

It is sleeveless and un-shapely. But the red and white stripes and detail on the chest are c u t e. We decide not to put it 'under' and just pair it w/ a cardigan and belt... and red lipstick. Still need the right shoes. This will definitely be a "school" outfit for me.

I have a PERSONAL TAILOR.
I could get used to this. The possibilities!

Step one: Deconstruct. Step two: Reconstruct

Step 3: Try on, make adjustments... repeat! :)

(dress is in-side-out)

After church Jess got sewing again and finished 'er up!

We failed to get a before shot! :( But won't for the other ones. He took in the side seams, the shoulders and the back- so he had to re-do the zipper. I was thoroughly impressed.

So here is the finished product.

They're finished!!! Thanks to a wonderful mother-in-law who took the two older boys for a few days, I was able to stay focused and get 'em done! (Do you remember the curtains I posted about, ever so long ago?) Man, it feels good to finish a project - even if, in my case, it takes months! :P Jess got home from his assignment (yipee) and was able to help me hang them up.

Curtains for the boys' room
This has been my 'project' for at least the last month or so! It's my FIRST sewing project, so I was very intimidated to even get started! Thank you sewing guru Lynda Lund for helping me get started and Susan Dutton for helping me cut out the fabric! :)Ya, I needed help cutting out the fabric! How sad is that? -But really, it seemed the most time consuming.

My dining room table has had this mess for too long now. But I have been making good progress over the last two days! (yes, that is the owner's manual that I have referred to several times next to my machine!)

My hang up now is waiting for more red border stuff to come into the fabric store. And I will for sure have to have Lynda over again to help me with the black-out lining. Can't wait to finally get them completed and done though. I've enjoyed sewing - I think I'm getting the hang of it!
