I am starting THE ARTIST'S WAY again - this time my sisters and mom are on board (right guys?) It will be fun to check up on each other. I posted about it once before - you can read it here.

It's just an amazing, purging, insightful, life changing process and will be wonderful to do again! Amen.

I am currently reading this book. WOW. I can't even express how in awe I am of this man and his life and his spiritual experiences. So if you're in a spiritual slump like I've been, this is a great one to get you inspired and back on track! Very, very good read!

sigh. I love reading. Please pass on your favorite reads!!

I have been in a book club for nearly two years - I can't believe it's been that long! I love it. I love getting lost in a story. For the most part I have really enjoyed each selection so far. And I love getting together with a group of girls and having a night out. This was our latest read, the Princess Acadamy. Cute, cute read. I would recommend. It's my pick for next month's book, and I think I'm going to choose Twilight. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds interesting. It has vampires in it, and is a love story. Kinda weird, but I'm a sucker for love stories. To read about the book and how the author came up with the plot click here: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight.html I like being able to read the thoughts of the author and I love that she started writing this from a dream she had, and worked on it at nights when her kids were asleep so she wouldn't be inturrupted. (who can't relate to that) So, I hope it's a good read - I think it will be.

I am currently "reading" this book, The Artist's Way. I put "reading" in quotations because it really is a 12 week journey. Right now I am on week four. It has been interesting and eye opening. I am rediscovering who I am. It's easy to get 'lost' when you're a mother - and that is a beautiful, self-less thing. Since my 3rd child was born in December, I have felt this strong desire and need to find myself again. This book has been amazing at helping me start that process. Do I dare say it has been life changing, and I am only on week FOUR? The daily writings and weekly tasks have at times seemed tedious or too time consuming, and there has been some rebellion - but the things that are opening up to me,... it's pretty amazing. One of the exercises I did today was called "Buried Dreams" Here were the questions. Try jotting down your answers as quickly as possible - it is an exercise in spontaneity.

  1. List five hobbies that sound fun
  2. List five classes that sound fun
  3. List five things you personally would never do that sound fun
  4. List five skills that would be fun to have
  5. List five things you used to enjoy doing
  6. List five silly things you would like to try once.

This is a very small example of what's in the book, but so far it's been about discovering, recovering and nurturing who you are - being your best self.

Something that I read today that I really liked: "By tossing out the old and unworkable, we make way for the new and suitable" How many of us hang on to things just because? One of the Task's this week was to: Open your closet. Throw out - or hand on, or donate - one low- self-worth outfit. (You know that outfit.) Make space for the new. How great is that!? :) I have too many "low-self-worth" outfits to choose from! I need clothes I really feel wonderful in!

This has been a great process so far.
