...how many loaves of zucchini bread I could make from this big daddy. (I've got TWO of em!)

*not from my garden - from a friend's. My zucchini's aren't producing very much - I've only gotten 3 so far! :I And they are small... :)

FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!

Front flower bed. My poppies aren't as happy as the ones in the backyard... Can't wait for the clematis (on the lattice) to blossom!

My mother-in-law pointed out that my peonies (back corner) are alive and well! YIPEE! I planted them last year...Hopefully they blossom!

Below this, I have a little flower bed that I planted snapdragons & ....again, blanking... need to get them some plant food though!

And in the garden, the Spinach, basil, cilantro and beans are coming up nicely!!! (Although my cucumber & watermelon bit the dust already.) :I

So, our garden is IN. :)

I am looking at this as my 'test' garden - there are a lot of things I planted, and I have no clue how they'll turn out/if they'll survive. So it will be fun to watch and care for.

Here is the breakdown.

Behind the lilacs, we planted white and orange pumpkin seeds, as well as a watermelon plant.
To the left of the tomatoes (in the 'walls of water') we planted: cucumber, italian parsley, peppers, aneheim pepper, basil, spinach, cilantro, & beans.

To the right of the tomatoes, we planted 2 types of zucchini, yellow squash, honeydew & ambrosia mellon (?) -never had it before.

The squash and poppies.

Looking both ways...

I love watching the poppies shed & bloom.

Also-
While I was sick in bed, I let the older boys make little treasures w/ these things. (See Bodie's mostly white fish on the right?) NOT such a great idea. Just as I was headed off to slumber-land, Brock comes in and informs me he shoved one up his nose and it's 'stuck'...We had just lost power due to lightning, so I took him near a window...and sure enough there was a little bead lodged up there.

So off we went to the firestation so Dad could retrieve it and be the hero. (I wanted no responsibility in further shoving that thing up into his sinus cavity)
Photobucket

Dad got it! And Brock got to keep the little flashlight. Everyone happy. Mom still needing to take a nap. :)

But now I am finally feeling WELL. Although Jess and the boys (minus Wyatt) left to go fishing on THIS TRIP w/ out me...sad to miss it, but much to get done around here too. And Mr. Wyatt gets to have Nana and Papa ALL TO HIMSELF for the next two days. He is going to be in heaven.

Thursday, May 15

About 2 weeks ago Nana brought me up some geraniums and helped me pot them. We also got pansies and planted them in front of the porch...

Then she came up again today and brought me some lattice for my clematis (they are so grateful and happy) and iris from her garden to plant by the rose & current bush. Love it!

She also came up to give me an introductory class on the Cuisinart she got me for my b-day... We made pizza, salsa & salad in a little over an hour!!! I love this kitchen appliance!! The possibilities are endless, and I will never get over it's chopping & slicing capabilities!

AND we planted a little garden in the backyard....Cherry tomatoes, snow peas & squash... and a few flowers (which I've already forgotten the names). Hopefully I can keep everything alive and they will flourish!

The bottom right picture is of the poppies out front - They look like an ugly weed, but are so beautiful when they bloom! And they are getting close!

It was a wonderfully fun day and I'm so glad Marilyn is willing to help me with all of this gardening because it is something I am really enjoying and I wouldn't know how to go about it by myself!!!
